Frances Turner

Frances Turner has dedicated more than 35 years to educating young people in both public and independent schools in New York and Maryland.  She maintained responsibility for hiring and training teachers in her roles as a Reading Specialist, Dean of Students, Admissions Director and Assistant Headmistress during her ten years at The McLean School of Maryland.  She has been a private educational consultant for over twenty years, working with youngsters on all levels from pre-school through high school and assisted countless families in their search for the appropriate school.  Her experience and knowledge ensure personal guidance to parents and a caring, sensitive approach to each child.
  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Masters in Education with a specialty in Remedial Reading.  She has been a guest speaker for The Parents Council of Greater Washington, contributed to many admissions workshops for The Association of Independent Maryland Schools and has served on a number of boards including The Bender-Dosik Parenting Center.  She is a member of SSATB and has appeared on WJLA/ABC television discussing the role of an educational consultant.  Her featured articles have appeared in The Washington Post, Washingtonian Magazine, Bethesda Magazine and is a contributing author in Raising Your Child in Washington, a Guide for the Growing Years.
